Need

A few weeks before Christmas Becky and I were driving down Main Street in a blizzard and we passed the Food Bank. There was a line to the road of men, women, and children standing there in a line, freezing and waiting for food. I have never seen anything like it. The image is burned in my mind and I can't help but feel so grateful for being able to provide shelter and food for my own little girl. I found myself in a situation where I really felt sorry for myself because I felt like I have had so many trials in the last year, but I have never once had to go without food or not had a roof over my head or had to look at my baby and not known how I was going to keep her warm that night. I really am so blessed. I am so grateful for all the small things, for family, for our health, for our happiness, and for the gospel of Jesus Christ, for knowing that I have a Savior who has never left my side. The lines at the food bank have gotten even longer since that time before Christmas. We were asked in our ward this week to donate to our local community food bank because the need is so great right now. I thought I would extend the same opportunity to serve to any of you who read this. Donate to your local Food Bank! Donate anything you can...clothing, blankets, food, money... There are so many opportunities to serve and so many families who really need assistance right now and I feel so strongly that the Lord wants any of us who can to succor the poor and needy, to make sure that we take care of those around us and give what we can.

wishing and hoping

I have gotten so addicted to Facebook that my blog has severely suffered, but I have decided its ok to share my love equally and start blogging again. Life has been super crazy these last few months. I started school again and am NOT loving it! Its so hard to have to decide between hanging with McKenna and having fun and boring...studying for hours and hours to pull off a measley C!! I am sure it will get better as I get used to having to study, but right now I am thinking I was crazy to bother going back!

I can say one thing for sure though...Logan is sooo cold! I was loving the snow and cold weather up through Christmas, but now I am wishing and hoping for some warm, sunny weather! Its just cold and dirty now and if I rub against my filthy car one more time and get myself all covered in crapola I will scream! There's only so many times a week you can wash a car lol. Apparently McKenna is sick of the cold weather as well because today she rounded up a swim diaper, got her swimsuit and sun hat out, stripped down and pulled on her sun gear and begged to swim. She was totally confused when I would not let her pull out the swimming pool. She was so cute I had to take a picture. I am posting one of her so excited to have snow in all her now gear and one from today all done with the snow and wanting the sunshine...or maybe she is desperate for a sunny vacation just like mommy lol

Twilight

So I went and saw Twilight and it was good! Mostly good to get out of the house and have a fun night(thanks Beck!) but the movie was good too. It took me a while to see each character as they were portrayed on screen, but once I got over what I thought they should look like, I really enjoyed the show...so here is what I am!
I'm a Bella! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!

first tag...
A: ATTACHED OR SINGLE - attached
B: BEST FRIEND - Adam of course!
C: CAKE OR PIE - hmmm if I HAVE to pick..peach pie and by the way I never get peach pie! No restaurants ever sell it on the dessert menu and neither side of the family makes it for family functions and I am not exactly Betty Crocker to make my own so hint hint for my B-day that is still a looong time away lol
D: DAY OF CHOICE - Saturday, because we usually get to hang out as a family
E: ESSENTIAL ITEM - sunglasses- I am a squinter without them!
F: FAVORITE COLOR - pink anything..poor Kenna will probably hate pink by age 4!
G: GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT - Finally getting pregnant! No sadly not again, but with Kenna. I am so blessed to have her!

M: MARRIAGE DATE - September 20, 2002
N: NUMBER OF SIBLINGS - 6...4 fabulous sisters and 2 amazing brothers

P: PHOBIAS OR FEARS - Being alone
Q: QUOTES - "The difficulty of life itself is a blessing! For it initiates a desire within us to come to the Lord-a yearning we can feel even when we are blinded by sin!" James L Ferrell
R: REASON TO SMILE - Mckenna calls me Mama Chei and then if she's really upset at me (like if I didn't turn Dora on for the gazillionth time that day) she puts her hands on her hips and glares and screams Cheilah!! over and over. Who can't laugh at that!
S: SEASON - Winter, but only when it is postcard perfect! I love the snow when it's fresh and the world is white and you get all bundled up to be warm and toasty to go outside and see your own breath. Plus, then how much sweeter is your winter vacation to the sunny warm beach!
T: TAG THREE FRIENDS - Sara, Stephanie D, and Kari....
U: UNKNOWN FACT - Hmmm I am such an open book. I used to like to eat soap when I was pregnant...gross huh! Only Coast and I wouldn't actually swallow it, I just wanted to taste it!
V: VERY FAVORITE STORE - Target, Target, Target! I can throw a rock and hit the Target here-yay! Wait this is a bad thing too. I never realized that now Adam will have to get a second job!-now I go for diapers and come back with a cart full of things that I must have lol!
W: WORST HABIT - I have become a very pessimistic person...something I desperately want to change!

Y: YOUR FAVORITE FOOD - Peanut Butter...in peanut butter lovers delight from Coldstone, with bananas, on a sandwich, in cookies, candy, whatever...I love it!

Second tag...

Joys:
1. Having Kenna. Even when I am having the worst day ever and am bawling my eyes out, I have her. She exhibits such pure Christ-like love and forgiveness that I can't help but be uplifted by her!
2.Gaining a stronger testimony and becoming closer to my savior.
3.Going on vacations. I love being somewhere new and seeing different cultures, tasting different foods,(sometimes! lol) and experiencing a different way of life.
4.Reading a fantastic book. I am addicted to Stephanie Meyer and can't wait to read Breaking Dawn!

Fears:
1.To be alone. Not for an hour or two, but to really be alone.
2.To lose my husband or my daughter or anyone that I love and cherish
3.Bees, wasps, yellow jackets, whatever stings. I am a spectacle when they come around. I hate them! And they loooove me. I have tried the whole leave them alone and they will leave you alone and it DOES NOT work! They come after me and attack with vengeance!
4.Flying. I hyperventilate and get light headed. I have been know to bawl like a baby occasionally! I fly often and I really have not gotten any better at it. Luckily I usually have Kenna now to distract so it makes the time go by quicker!

Goals:
1. To fulfill the things that I was sent here to do and to be forgiving and uplifting and kind and genuine and a fun person to be around.
2. To not have regrets at the end of the day.
3. Find more opportunities to serve others.
4. To learn how to cook! I would love to have an actual meal plan for every week and just know how to throw things together in a jiff! And to know what kind of meat is what-hello I am a lost puppy in the meat department at the grocery store!

Current Obsessions:
1. Parks. I am on the hunt for new ones and fun things to do that do not involve me sitting at my house with Kenna all day long! I am soooo lonely here so it helps to get out and Kenna has a blast! Maybe I should start wearing a T-shirt that says "Will you be my friend? I am only crazy some of the time and here is my number...call me!"
2. Bike riding. We live at the top of a mountain and ever way down is at least a 9% grade and dang it one of these days I will make it all the way up without having to walk my bike!
3.Running. I have never been a good runner, in fact I do not think I have ever run further than a mile without walking part ways so I am determined to run at least 30 straight minutes! And hopefully someday get the mythical "runners high" that ever runner raves about. So far I always finish running wanting someone to harpoon me and put me out of my misery!
4.Gardening. I really, really want a garden and an orchard. I believe things die though in 115 degree weather don't they??

Random Surprising Facts:
1. I love, love, love swimming and I absolutely HATE to be wet! Well at least with my clothes on. I am so lucky Adam ever married me because on one of our first dates ever we went to a concert in Ogden and we were running late and we had to park waaaay in the back of the lot and it was pouring rain and I got soaked and was so incredibly grumpy about it the entire night and he still asked me out again...what a guy!
2. I am a snoop. I love to find birthday and Christmas gifts ahead of time!
3. I can not keep a gift a secret for long. I will beg for you to guess what it is and and talk about what a great gift I managed to find and then if you do guess it, I will be mad! I no longer buy gifts in advance...I do not trust myself with the responsibility of keeping quiet about it!
4. I get addicted to pulling weeds. There is something fabulous about ripping those suckers out and then at the end everything looks lovely!
